Four members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua that were taking over apartments in Aurora, Colorado, were arrested, and have been confirmed as illegal immigrants, according to a statement from an ICE spokesperson to Fox News.
The suspects, aged 19 to 24, illegally crossed the U.S. southern border through Texas in 2022 and 2023 under the Biden-Harris program. All four are now in ICE custody.
The arrests followed a shooting near Nome Street Apartments in Aurora, Colorado, where armed members of the Tren de Aragua gang had reportedly taken over parts of the complex. The suspects arrested include Jhonnarty Dejesus Pacheco-Chirinos, Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirinos, Nixon Jose Azuaje Perez, and Dixon Jose Azuaje Perez, who were connected to an attempted homicide on July 28.
Aurora Police confirmed that “Jhonnarty Dejesus Pacheco-Chirinos is a documented member of Tren de Aragua. He is the brother of Jhonardy Jose Pacheco-Chirinos, also known as ‘Cookie’ or ‘Galleta.’”
The Aurora Police Department further stated that “two others arrested that same day are suspected gang members. Dixon Azuaje-Perez, age 20, and Nixon Azuaje-Perez, age 19, were both arrested for tampering with evidence in the July 28 shooting on Nome Street. They are believed to have gang ties and are suspected members of TdA.”
Recently, surveillance footage from the Romero family’s apartment went viral, showing heavily armed Tren de Aragua gang members breaking down a door in Aurora.
Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky blamed the Biden administration’s border policies for the incident, stating, “Thanks to the failure of the Biden administration to secure the border, the people of Aurora and other Americans have suffered at the hands of the Tren de Aragua gang.”
The new Democratic nominee Kamala Harris and her VP Tim Walz have changed their mind on the border issue, and said that they want to continue building the border, that was firstly started by former President Donald Trump.
Even after Kamala changed her mind on the border issue the former President slammed her and said that she is not going to continue further construction of the border.
