The Conservative Canadian hoping to sent Trudeau into retirement has made American headlines before… is it time he did so again?
Remember that time a journo tried to play the ‘gotcha’ game with Pierre Poilievre and he cut him to pieces between bites of an apple?
We’re talking about the same Canadian politician. This time, with Trudeau’s liberals on the ropes and likely to hemorrhage seats the next time an election gets called, Pierre is at war with the media again.
It began with a statement by Poilievre. Besides leader of Canada’s Conservative Party, he is also Canada’s equivalent of the House Minority Leader, called ‘Opposition Leader’ in the report below:
When you cut and splice parts of separate sentences to fabricate an entirely made-up one, that’s not taking it out of context.
That’s deliberately broadcasting something that never happened. @CTVNews lied to Canadians. https://t.co/1GfolHtKdT

CTV is a private news caster, but like many Canadian news organizations, they have been increasingly entangled both with the Government-subsidized media giant CBC either at the personnel level or the government policy level.
Ordinary hostility to right-of-center politics only gets bigger when paired with promises to slash government subsidies to media giants.
In the tweet above, they deliberately lied (not for the first time) about what Poilievre’s policies are.
They not only took a quote out of context, they twisted it to mean something entirely alien to its original meaning.
Here’s a televised Mea Culpa:
